ON-SITE/DAY OF EVENT QUESTIONS

Q: How long is the wait in line?
A: A: It depends. During our September hours, the wait is usually very short. The beginning of October, there is typically a short wait, maybe 30 minutes on a weeknight. As it gets closer to Halloween, specifically on a Friday or Saturday night, the wait can be long. The closer you come to opening time (7:00 pm) the shorter the wait. We do offer a VIP Pass that puts you to the front of the line and can cut your wait time on busy nights in half or more. The earlier you come for both General Admission and VIP Tickets, the faster you can get to the event!

Q: Do you charge for parking?
A: There is free parking in the warehouse spaces surrounding our event. These lots are police patrolled. Please consider that these properties allow us free parking and try to keep the lots as clean as possible. Thank you!

Q: Is the waiting area inside?
A: The waiting area is outside. We are open rain or shine as long as it is safe to navigate our walkthrough. In the event of rain outside stage shows and bands may be cancelled due to weather. However it is our experience that many people find our rain night more fun and intimate.

Q: How long does it take to go through?
A: It's really difficult to give an answer to this question- some groups run right through, while others take their time. It really depends on how well you can handle the fear! The House of Shock is the largest and longest indoor haunted attraction in STATE! It’s safe to say it’s pretty big, so you should be in there long enough to get plenty scared!

Q: Is The House of Shock handicap accessible?
A: Yes. We do our best to be handicap accessible inside the attraction! There are a couple areas that may have to be by-passed; we provide by-passes for all guests that cannot go through certain rooms of the haunted house. Please make sure that you check in with an Event Staff employee and they will help you through the house!

Q: Do you have a lot of strobe lights in the haunted house?
A: Yes. We have many strobe lights and fog throughout the entire haunted house. It is not recommended for people that have Epilepsy go through the haunted house. We also don't recommend people with asthma, heart issues and pregnant women go through the haunted house. You can always ask your physician to see if you should go through, however, we just don't want you to get hurt.

Q: Is there security?
A: On most busy nights there are police officers at the event.

Q: Can we take photos and/or videos inside the haunted house?
A: No. Photography and video recording (including GoPros) are not permitted.

Q: Will the actors touch us, or can we touch the actors?
A: No. Actors will not touch you. Please be respectful and do not touch them. Incidental and unintentional contact may occur.

Q: If I enter the haunted house and get too scared, what do I do?
A: If you get too scared, stay calm and find tell the actor in the room and they will escort you outside. Please note, like sporting events and large attractions, we do not give refunds under any circumstances.

Q: Can I bring my purse and/or bag into the haunted house?
A: We do not have lockers or a coat check at the haunted house. Very small purses and/or bags are allowed in, other bags should be left at home.

A: As far as live creatures go, there are many life-like creatures in the haunted house. If there are real animals, they will be handled by professionals.

WHO SHOULD/SHOULDN’T ATTEND

Q: Is there an age limit for House of Shock?
A: No. However, due to the graphic nature, it is not recommended for small children, toddlers or babies. We have had young children go through and have a great time and adults who go through and are in tears! You're the parent- you be the judge. A good rule of thumb is: if you wouldn't bring your child to a PG-13 rated movie, it's probably not a good idea to bring them to a haunted house.

Q: Can pregnant women go through the haunted house?
A: We do not recommend pregnant women to go through the haunted house. We suggest calling your OBGYN and/or Physician to discuss the situation with them.

Q: If I have asthma, can I go inside of the haunted house?
A: We do not recommend people with asthma go through the haunted house. We suggest calling or emailing your Physician to discuss the situation with them since we have numerous fog machines throughout the haunted house. If your doctor thinks you’ll be fine, we definitely recommend bringing your inhaler or another device that may help you breathe better. We also don't recommend people with epilepsy, heart issues and pregnant women go through the haunted house as well. We just want everyone to have a safe time.

Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Sorry, we know dogs are welcome at most places in New Orleans, however, it's just too darn scary for our furry friends at the House of Shock. They would probably be more comfortable at home with the other scaredy cats...err humans.
